The new Libra range of Medibord overlays, baseplates and accessories are manufactured from a new patent-pending multimodal composite that delivers equivalent imaging and strength properties to existing materials used in X-ray and MRI radiotherapy planning but works across all modalities. Medibord has developed a new composite called LucideTM to specifically address radio-translucency for treatment and X-Ray imaging, low electrical conductivity for MRI and maximal homogeneity to aid automated image co-registration.
Providing excellent performance across all modalities, this exciting new material offers an exceptional choice for auxiliary boards where the hardware should be identical across all imaging and treatment systems. Our products are engineered so that they can be securely located and removed from the cradle or existing couch-top of your system with ease.
The head and neck baseplate, pictured, provides a clean and flat surface for accurate patient positioning and fixing points for radiotherapy masks such as S-Type. A range of indexing options allows this same overlay to be seamlessly fitted to any indexed patient couch system. The low weight, high resilience, hardwearing and eco-friendly properties of this exciting new material make the overlay highly suitable for busy imaging suites, where RT planning is combined with diagnostic scans and the overlay/baseplate needs to be removed on a regular basis.
